As a chiropractor, I look to the spine to help facilitate healing in the body. Your spine is what connects the brain to the rest of your body. If there is anything blocking that communication system, then the body will not function as it was designed, and dysfunction occurs, leading to pain or dis-ease. Now chiropractic care for pregnant mommas you ask?
At the moment of conception, a hormone called Relaxin is released throughout momma's body to prepare her body for delivery. The only thing is that delivery is still months away! This means that during the upcoming months, the joints of momma's body are more prone to misaligning. These misalignments may affect the function of momma's overall health and baby's development.
Prenatal Chiropractic Care can provide:
- Relief from Neck and Back Pain
- Release of overall stress in the body
- More ease and less pain through labor
- Balanced pelvis, allowing optimum position of baby
- Relief from Round Ligament & Pubic Pain
- Confidence in New Body
- Happy Pregnancies
Becoming a mother is hard enough, the last thing we anticipate is encountering a health challenge with our newborn baby. My mission is to ease the transition into motherhood by checking both mom and babe's spine within the first 48 hours after birth. This allows momma's body to recover quicker and adapt to the stress of taking care of this new life.
For newborns, the birth process can be very stressful, whether born vaginally or cesarean. The slightest tension in the spine can alter their mind-body connection. This may present as health challenges such as gasiness, colic, asthma, difficulty feeding, constipation, or overall uneasiness of babe.
Benefits for Infants under Chiropractic care:
- Sleep well
- More jaw mobility for best latch
- Easier digestion
- Boosted immune system
- Calm and connected babies
- Alert and aware of surroundings
It continuously amazes me to see when families come in together to receive care, how much quicker their health challenges resolve and they all become a happier, healthier and cohesive family unit. For that reason, we not only accept pregnant mommas and babes, but the whole family!
Health challenges that we have had phenomenal results in are:
- numbness & tingling
- weakness of arms/legs
- allergies/sinus issues
- hormonal challenges
- digestive issues
- back and extremity pain
